Had a pretty chilled out day…again started the day with a meditation session. Then just spent some time relaxing at home.
In the afternoon we walked into Cardiff city centre to check out the castle and surrounds. I am already tired from walking! The walk from Kate's house to the city alone takes about 45 minutes. Didn’t go into the castle, just took photos from outside and then explored the surrounding gardens. I think the gardens that surround the castle is that of Bute Park and the river Taff runs through it. We thought about walking the river Taff trail but thought better of it, lol.
For dinner, Kate cooked up a massive curry…we put loads of veg in to it. After dinner Kate’s friends Rob and Dinky picked us up and we drove to Milgi’s, a lounge bar not too far from Kate’s. Kate goes there every month to attend Storytelling in a yurt! Don’t worry, I didn’t know what a yurt was either…it is a fancy name for a permanent tent or marquee. Every month people from around Cardiff come together and share their talents for storytelling, singing and music. I didn’t really know what to expect but I made certain to confirm with Kate that I would not be required to do anything, lol. This particular evening, the yurt was packed! We were pretty much sitting on top of each other and it got very very warm inside but it was worth it. A dramatized story of a little girl who talks to a bird who is scared to fly; a Spanish couple singing and playing guitar; a welsh storyteller sharing some intriguing stories with a harp being played in the background. These are just a few of the people that shared their talents with the group. We were probably there for about 3 hours or so. Despite the heat inside the yurt, it was very enjoyable and quite uplifting.
When we got back home, we set up Kate’s massage table and prepared an area in the lounge room for her first massage!! Kate is just starting up her own business doing a traditional Indian style massage. Eventually we had the room all set up and then Kate saw a message on her phone from her client cancelling the appointment. Oh no…poor Kate!! The upside to this (for me anyway) was that I would be Kate’s client in the morning and get a relaxing massage!
