Ghent seemed attractive in the guide book, and since it was on the way from Bruges to Antwerp, we made a day stop. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't that interesting! I wouldn't say don't go there, but I wouldn't go out of your way to see it. The only really interesting thing was Gravensteen Castle, which has a very cool collection of medieval weapons that Nick quite enjoyed. We also tried Ghent's famous purple gummy candies, which Nick liked but I thought tasted like old lady lavender soap. We were happy we had only planned to stop for the day in Ghent, and continued on our way to Antwerp.
