the beach town vibe while containing all the comforts of a city. This
beach town has not lost it's good old rule generosity and hospitality
due to mass influx of tourism. Many other cities have been culturally
dominated by the ways of the west. For example in Koh Samet when
entering a store I would "wai" the shop keeper and he wouldnt even
blink, whereas Hua Hin retains the sense of pride in it's country's
traditions.
My trip to Hua Hin started late Friday night,
because a student had given me a lovely present of an very contagious
eye infections, like pink eye. I have learned not to itch my eyes since
then. So the whole trip you will see me with my sunglasses on
preserving my looks and protecting you from a sore sight. at the end of
my trip I quickly recovered from the affects of the present, after of
course visiting the eye doctor on my vacation.
Geoffrey has
become my travel buddy. We plan on seeing all of Asia one weekend at a
time. While traveling with a buddy has it's advantages, it also has
it's disadvantages. I have been exploring and living in the world all
by myself with God at my side for the past 5 years after my Europe trip
in 2004,. So now that I am not hitting the road solo I find it to be
quite different. I have found the most efficient way of doing
everything while I am traveling, I rarely come across a situation that
is unmanageable, however when you are traveling for two, there are many
more unplanned detours. I must say I am learning a lot and would not
change it.
