Yo!

After a savage day at Wet n' Wild, we went out the road a bit to find a campsite! Since it was dark, we hit straight for the hay! Next morning, as I was making breakfast I made the mistake of saying Hello to this auld un who was sitting outside her van with her dogs! We had a little chat, but then there was no getting rid of her! Tried several times to wash the dishes & head off & every time she’d start up another conversation! In the end up she was telling us our future! That Christmas was a good time to get married for us, as Broc was moving from one number to another, like me!! Ya right!! After eventually getting away from her, we made our way to Glen Innes, which is a Celtic town, with some Irish heritage! We decided to have a massive feed of strawberries, ice cream & cream in a lovely café on the outskirts of town, this was before we had dinner at all!! Fit to drop, we were so full, we made our way to a lovely campsite! Glen Innes is up in the mountains a good bit, so it was well cold! Next day, we went to have a look at the Standing Stones in town! They were cool, but we were a bit disappointed, thinking they had some history but they were put there in 1988, making them pretty new! We then took a wander around town while the laundry was washing a drying! All done & dusted we moved on until we found a savage campsite by a dam in Armidale! We decided to stay here for the next two days! We stocked up on food & that & lit ourselves a big fire both nights! It had a savage hut, with an open fire, barbeques & benches! So we were in luxury, hence why we stayed longer than usual! The day we were leaving we met a really nice fella who worked with disadvantaged kids, so we spent a good part of the morning chatting him! Then Broc went to change the spark plugs in Seamus! When he had it all done, Seamus decided he wouldn’t start! The park was full with people as it was Sunday afternoon & people were out with their kids, having barbeques & the likes & here was Seamus making a show out of us, as per usual!!! Hehe! Broc checked everything & it ended up the leads had been on wrong since the day we bought him!! Nice! Good to go, we hit off again!

The next few days took us through a few national parks & the Blue Mountains! It was a class drive, with some really nice scenery! The Blue Mountains were pretty impressive with the Three Sisters (what we were thought were three massive rocks!) being a bit of a letdown! Bit on the small side! The night before heading to Sydney, we camped in a national Park, where the gate close at 6pm & open again in the morning! To beat the ranger we set an alarm, but keeping putting it on snooze, until we seen a white ute pass & then reversed back! Shit, caught by the balls! He could probably hear us inside cursing! So I opened the door, listened to his lecture & off he went! They’re such a laugh though because they threaten to fine you & never do! Priceless! So off to Summer Bay we went! We got to Palm Beach (where they shot Home & Away) in the hopes they’d be filming, but to our disappointment they weren’t! So we took a stroll down to the beach & to the surf club! Its mad what they can do with such a little space & how they make it look different on TV! Palm Beach itself is pretty big, but they only use a fraction of it! The grass area where you see them walk along isn’t that big, but they use it really clever. There is one building up from the beach, that they use for nearly everything, the diner, the surf club, Noah’s Bar etc! Then over the other side of the bay is the Wharf & Angelos! It was really cool to see! I can see why they use this as the location because its stunning! We took a walk up to the lighthouse & the views from there were amazing! With everything inspected, we had a lovely picnic in a park behind the 'Surfclub’ before having the coldest shower ever (it had been a few days!!) in the actual surfclub! It was time to hit Manly then for a look! Broc had planned to go diving the next morning, but it was called off, so we took a stroll along the Wharf & beach before heading into Sydney! We were staying with Amanda Creighton, a girl I went to school with! We were there early (they hadn’t finished work yet!) so we decided to get something to eat! Broc was raving about fish & chips, so me in my wisdom turned on the sat nav & entered fish & chip shop, that was supposed to be a few km’s away! But the sat nav brought us into Sydney city centre in the middle of rush hour & then shit itself! It wouldn’t stop beeping, kept recalculating! In the end up, after driving around for about an hour & getting nowhere, we went back & parked outside Amanda’s & ate in the pub beside her house! Then Broc goes & ordered Steak & chips after all that!! Wouldn’t beat it with a big stick! We went back & met Amanda then! We had a quiet night in that night, just watching telly & chatting!

Amanda lives right beside Darling Harbour, so the next day, Broc & I took a stroll around there! Had a few games of pool, watched a street performance, before heading back to the apartment for a lazy day with Gavin & Stacey (TV Series!)! That night Broc went to the pub to meet one of his friends, Danny! Amanda & I followed later, but weren’t out to long because the boys were happy out!

Had a well deserved lie in the next morning, before Broc went to meet Danny & then Amanda, Dec (her bf) & I went for a look at the boat show in the Harbour! That evening we had a massive feed of nachos & a few games of cards before heading to PJ O Briens, where we met Danny & a few of his friends! We ended up in the Courthouse (probably the biggest dive in Sydney!) until 7am Sunday morning! Was a right good laugh though!

With it being Sunday, a day session was in order, so we headed to Bonji Junction! We had a few drinks in the Tea Gardens, but since there wasn’t much happening there we went to the Cock and Bull! There was a good band playing, it was full of Irish & the craic was mighty so we stayed here until around 12! Wrecked from the night before, we called it a night!

It was time for us to get on the road again, so we waited for Amanda to come home from Lunch before heading off! Really enjoyed the weekend! Was really laid back & a right laugh! Sydney still doesn’t do it for us though!!
