I woke up at 5am after only getting about 2-3 hours of sleep, but I wasn't tired because I was so excited to leave to Costa Rica! I got all my stuff together and cereal. I called everyone on my phone tree, but Sean has the wrong number on the list and I ended up waking up some poor lady at 5:30am. On the way to the airport I stopped and got some Shipley’s Donuts because they’re my favorite and I wanted them to be my last meal before leaving. I made it to the airport on time at 7am, but at the last minute my mom makes a wrong turn! We keep doing circles around the airport and asking for directions but nothing was working so I got out at terminal A and some random guy helped me get to the little underground train thing. I rode on the train all around the airport because it turns out that terminal A is the farthest away possible from where I needed to be. The train ride felt like forever because I was so worried that I was going to miss my flight and waste all of the money I spent on this trip. After the train dropped me off I still had to run up three flights of stairs carrying my backpack and my heavy broken duffel bag. I finally made it to check in which was a huge relief. I was worried that the plane ride was going to be boring without my iPod, but Christie stole the seat next to me and I got to listen to hers. Arriving in Costa Rica was a very different sight than what I was used to. I was surprised to see things there that I also see at home like the same fast food restaurants and some food they had at a convenience store. We ate lunch at a restaurant that in my opinion was the best food that we ate the whole trip. We arrived at the hotel later which was way different than I expected. It was small, poor, had a lot of bugs, and had no air conditioning. We ate dinner at a local restaurant, the food was really good. Then we walked around the small town of Sierpe and learned about a Mayan rock that was in an almost perfect sphere. We saw a Marine toad while we were sitting outside talking. Then we all went back to our rooms to go to bed.
