Today we had the day off, as we will be working making mochi the next couple of days. We went for a walk around the town. There are no sidewalks in Obuse like back home. Some of the sidewalks consist of a painted line on the road that serves as a demarkation line between pedestrian and automobile.

We plan to visit the shrines later tonight, but are not expecting quite as large of a celebration as we had first hoped. It should still be interesting though.
