We stir from our slumber, with chords of Pearl Jam and Elvis humming in our semi-consciousness minds. There is just so much to piece together, helped by a few strands of physical evidence; a white feathered boa, fluorescent rings still aglow, tattoos on our arms, stamps both obvious and fluorescent on our hands and incredibly sore feet!. We sit up in bed and start to recount our memories of margarita shots at Coyote Ugly; Pussy Cat Doll go-go girls; the party we stumbled across with free drinks, Elvis impersonator; and dancing to the latest laser light show DJ rapper; followed by more dancing at Paris with an awesome nine piece samba band.  Ten solid hours of partying in Vegas. This is something you need to do just once in your life if you are in the area....

This place is definitely 'something else' it is just one huge huge huge casino after another all themed and all trying to out do each other with their size and expanse. First off just a note you may want to skim this as this is as much to capture for our memories what is a night I am sure we will have trouble recalling all details of in a few days time.

We got a shuttle from our hotel to start our evening at 6pm at the Venetian - complete with indoor canal and punters!! the ceiling took a couple of looks before you realized it was fake. Next was a big walk down to Circus Circus where we heard there was a good buffet for tea, pretty average but did the trick - this casino came complete with live acts and a theme park indoors.  At this stage we worked out how bloomin long the Strip was so caught a double decker bus that would take us to the other end to work back towards our hotel.

The Excalibur was the first on our way back - enormous Disney like castle tops at the entrance and pure luxury inside and has an arena inside big enough for horses to charge each other as you have dinner and watch the entertainment.  Take the over bridge to New York New York, again complete with its own statue of liberty - and not just a tiny replica.  Here we found our first bar - the Evil Coyote and what a laugh a whole bar strewn with bras and girls dancing on the stage and giving all women free margarita shots - I had to get into the mood of it all and forget about public health training as I took my turn. I was very keen to stay as we were going to get a chance to dance on the bar but Cam was keen to move on...

A more subtle entertainment this time - Bellagio has an Italian theme and inside the clientele definitely improved with more heels and glittery outfits. Inside was this amazing Autumn display with water wheels and features and carved wood - too difficult to describe and a ceiling made of cut glass huge flowers of a multitude of colours. The big draw card for us though was the fountains - they go every 10 minutes to music and just incredible display with the Paris casino and Eiffel tower replica behind, we had to hang around and watch it at least 3 times...  Caesars Palace was next complete with just what you would imagine - plenty of roman columns and statues - Cam went exploring and found some pussy cat doll dancers but I just had to give my feet a rest - it was at this point and about 11pm that I was not sure I could go on much longer - the stimulus and walking on hard concrete was getting to me.... How the girls in heels did it I do not know.

Those plans ended when we popped across the road to look at the Flamingoes (literally) at the Flamingo Hotel and happened upon a free party - hence the feather boas, light sticks, tattoos, dancing and Elvis impersonator. This was amazing, free drinks (by voucher so managed to some extent), free food, amazing DJ and just packed with people. The video of the Elvis guy has us both in stitches every time we watch it but you may have needed to be there to get the joke - he was pretty bad but suggested that when he sang this bit of the song usually the crowd went wild so needless to say he sang it again and a very merry crowd played along.... One of the most weird things here was they had girls dancing inside bubbles that were floating on the pool - I tell you if you will see some stuff anywhere you will see it in Vegas!!

By this time I am definitely finished so a quick peak inside the Eiffel tower was last stop - that was until we heard the Samba band and had to do a few turns on the dance floor - thankfully they took a break as I was well past it by now. Cam managed to squeeze in one more stop on the way out of Paris - only because it has comfy chairs, two guys playing on a dual grand rocking out songs on request - it was amazing the sound they could produce.  Back to the hotel just a buzz with the nights entertainment so had a spa by the pool to wind down a bit before crashing around 2am - very early by Vegas standards!!
