We arrived after an 11 hour train ride in Khon Kaen. We then took a Tuk-Tuk taxi to the bus station. We boarded a Golden Dragon Busline bus to our destination of Roi Et, a city of about 33,000 in the East central part of Thailand. Upon arrival in Roi Et our tour guide, Randy, took us to a $12 a night hotel. We rested up a bit, then we walked around town doing sight seeing. We saw the tallest Buddha (about 5 stories high) in Thailand. On our way back to the we stopped by a street vendor to purchase fruit. We bought fresh pineapple. The vendor cut it up for us and realized that it was not of good enough quality for her esteemed customers, so she put it aside and selected a better one for us. It was an excellent choice.
We then retired for the night.
