Today we decided to make the drive to Philly and do the Philly food day! We saw a place called Tony Lukes on Bobby Flay and Man vs. Food so we decided to check it out instead of Pat's and Geno's. Cade, my mom and I stuck with the standard Philly Cheese steak with Whiz (cheese whiz) and my dad decided to try a Tony Lukes Specialty, roast pork italian sandwich. It had roast pork, broccoli rabe and sharp provolone cheese. The sandwiches were great, we also added a basket of cheese fries with bacon, they were ok.
Then, we decided to try and find an ice cream parlor that was featured on Man vs. Food called Bassett's. It was in the Reading Terminal Market, which was a really cool market with every kind of food you can think of! Fish markets, meat markets, vegetable markets, candy markets, herb markets, they even had a chocolate covered onion, my mom drew the line at that, it was amazing! We found Bassett's, they are the oldest ice cream shop in the US, (we think), the ice cream was delicious!

You are lucky - Philly food is wonderful!! I always get a cheese steak when I go back there. Mrs. Bassett was my Dad's next door neighbor!!! When Mr. Bassett died and her kids took over they added sandwiches and other treats - she was a very nice lady.
All those markets, I'm about to cry...we will plan a trip up north...I have to get back there....have a GREAT time you guys!
So, Conner, you could publish your blogs! Just add some of the Bright's favorite recipes! A combination travel and cook book!
What an awesome trip!

Wendy asked me to update you on Lexi. All went well Friday am. She went home right after and is fine.
