Rip Van Winkle Campgrounds Saugerties

After exploring the cool campground by going on a bike ride, we decided we were ready to explore the city! Wow, were we in for a treat!!!! We talked to the owner Dan and asked him were there maybe a swimming hole, the one dad had seen on swimming holes.com, he recommended NOT going too. He said it was too dangerous. So instead he gave us directions to one called Kaaterskill Falls. When we had to park a couple blocks away and walk along the mountain road, we should have know we were in for an adventure......

The hike path wasn't really a path, it was more like rocks, branches and dead limb. Does this give you a visual? We continued on the hike for .5 miles till we arrived at the main falls. Wow!!!! They were amazing!!! After chatting with some locals we noticed to get up to where you can swim, it was very risky, because there is no path and 2 people have fallen and died....we decided to not risk it and just look with our eyes! What we could see, was still awesome!!!!
