I'n officially the boredest person on earth. Daegu is a dead town. I get off work at like 10 pm and everything is shut down so I hang out with myself in my apartment. My IPOD still isn't working and there is no cable. I realized today I can't figure out the stove top so I'm very limited on what to eat. Also, I have to be quiet since it's the middle of the night. I go to sleep eventually and then wake up the next day and go to school, where I observe teachers. It's so boring and long. All of my co-workers seem really nice though, but they don't seem like they do much socializing outside of school. I can't wait to start teaching so that I don't have to sit through six hours of class. This overseas experience is harder since I'm not with a group and I'm not working with students close to my age. Despite being bored, things are great. I can't complain too much about bordom. I could be flat out miserable....

I'll take this time to share a few things about Daegu. It's the 136th largest city in the world. The 2nd most disastrous event since the Korean war took place here in 2003, when a subway caught fire and killed 200 people.

So, far all I can tell is that it closes pretty early. It's not nearly as alive as Seoul is, but I haven't found downtown yet. It reminds me a lot of the town in China I was in last year. I went exploring last night. I got off at a random subway stop and started walking. It was a dead part of town. I bought a pair of shoes in the biggest size they have and today they wore them to find they hurt my feet. I also needed to use the restroom so I asked a girl at this chicken place if I could use her restroom and she told me it was uncomfortable. I told her I didn't care so she took me to it. It was really ghetto. It was a squatty, but the ghetto part was walking to it, there wasn't a ceiling in some part of the hallway. I would prefer a squatty over a disgusting toilet though.

Today I went to the store and tried to buy regular pickles, but all they eat here are sweet pickles so I ended up with sweet pickles. I also tried to buy a pack of tuna cans and all I read was the tuna part. I somehow missed the "in hot pepper sauce." I did successfully find grapes that are seedless.

I should get to start teaching Friday or Saturday! Woot!
