Hey folks well its 1 week and 3 day to be precise until we start on our world trip. I've replaced my nerves with pure excitement. I must admit last month while trying to fall asleep all I was thinking was "OH MY GOD" I'm leaving everything, Job, Friends, Family, Ireland everything I love, to do something with no certainties apart from a great big bank loan and no job to pay it off with when I return.
Anyway I'm over that now and I just cant wait until I walk through the departure gates in Dublin Airport. Its not saying that I will not miss all of the fore mentioned but to have the opportunity to see the world and achieve an ambition is priceless and worth any amount of bank loan,, right???
But to get to 1 week left hasn't been easy, with just two weeks to go I still have the matter of selling the Opel Astra that myself and Conor from work invested €100 in and if things couldn't go much worse I crashed my own car,, and it was totally my fault.
Never before have I needed a car so much in my life than on these final weeks. Anyway every cloud has a silver lining and I sold the Opel making a 800% profit and my insurance is taking care off the car I crashed into.
I've got everything in place now tickets, passports, visa and shots. My travel buddies are all prepared as well, Tommo (Andrew) conveniently got sacked last week so is using his time well with getting everything ready,,, The doctor broke 3 needles on him when giving him his shots, things have a habit of breaking on Tommo,, ie my hand last summer. Thanks Tommo its still swore!
This is probably my last entry as I'm fully booked up with concerts (REM & U2) and parties and also last minute bits and pieces so I reckon my next entry will be into the trip.
Till then, Farewell Ireland, Goodbye IBM and Best of Luck Lads- I'll see ya next year!!
Slan!
