FRIDAY, 15th December

We had a lunch date today with M & J in Gloucester where they were visiting their son. It took nearly two hours before we were parked in the Gloucester Docks and went searching for the Fosters on the Docks where we had agreed to meet. They arrived shortly afterwards but the pub was not doing meals that day so we walked into the main street and found a real Olde Inne. We got on famously. He was a retired insurance man and she a retired accountant. They had been to many countries but never Australia and only once on home exchange. They gave me keys to the house in Great Yarmout but offered to put us up the night before they go which we will think about. We all had the braised beaf and Yorkshire pudding except Anne who chose the steak and chips.

We drove home in the dark along the M5 but there was a big hold up on the M4 coming out of Bristol which made our journey home a lot longer than that on the A46. The rain didn't help.
