9am...We woke up after a good night's sleep at the Inn At St. John, in Portland, Maine. It was a continental breakfast, but we both had some yogurt, shared a huge double chocolate muffin, and Kelly had some oatmeal. The coffee was great, and we gladly filled our Starbucks travel mugs to the brim!
After checkout, we went down into Old Port, to do some Portland shopping at one of our favorite stores, The Black Dog Tavern Company (Check them out online!). Lots of great things to choose from, but we decided on a hat and T-shirt for me. Kelly got some comfy sleep pants, and a nautical stripe hoody pullover. Because we spent enough, we got a free canvas Black Dog tote! Always cool! :) We then headed over to a neat furniture store that had a beautiful teak chair made out of a single stump of wood. It was 50% off and gorgeous.....we remain tempted....we'll see on our way back. We quickly hit up the Life Is Good store then, where I got a Just Married shirt with two coffee mugs labeled "his" and "hers". Now we both have one this trip! Cheesy matchy pics at some point....promise. Off to New Brunswick!

5pm...Driving through rural Canada after a no-hassel border crossing, we came upon Ossie's. Lured by the claim of the "Best Seafood In North America", we pulled in for dinner. Wow...it was as fantastic as advertised. Kelly had fresh New Brunswick caught haddock fish and chips, and I had what can simply be described as the best lobster roll I have ever tasted. New Brunswick fresh caught too! Scrumptious! The home made tartar sauce was a nice touch also. We topped it off by sharing an old-fashioned chocolate milkshake on our way out. On our way to St. Martins, we photographed our first "Moose Alert" road sign, and while pulled over watched a Sharp-shinned hawk try to nab a sparrow right in front of our car! Wow...very exciting! Two hours to go! (In actuality it was one hour....we forgot about the new time zone here....good thing the GPS did not!)

7pm...Arrived in St. Martins, NB at The Tidal Watch Inn B&B. A lovely old house on the Bay, run by a charming British guy, who loved my "Mind The Gap" shirt (Thanks to James and Kathryn Douthit!!!) We quickly got back in the car however to catch the sunset at the Quaco Head Lighthouse down the road. What a superb idea that turned out to be. A little gravel road led us to the Lighthouse, which sat on the edge of a cliff overlooking the bay. The sunset was gorgeous, and the strong winds carrying the cool ocean breeze were welcome after a morning in the 90's. We took some pictures, and watched the water, before heading back to the B&B. We ordered a couple glasses of wine from the British guy. Kelly and I had a Negroamano, Italian Red. Most excellent after a long day driving. We are about to hit the whirlpool tub, and plan out the next few days in the Bay of Fundy. The next two nights are camping!!!
