7pm...Arrived in Portland. After a great start making good time, as soon as we entered the greater Boston area, we got bogged down, and added about an hour to our trip. These people are C-R-A-Z-Y drivers. Undeterred, we got to the hotel safely. After check-in we made our way up the surrealistic staircase that meandered up and over itself like an Escher drawing, finally arriving at our quaint little room for our first stop. We quickly drove into the city to visit Nosh Kitchen, which was a restaurant featured last year on The Food Network's "Man vs. Food". During the show, Adam ate the Apocalypse Now Burger. It was 4 Nosh pattys, Pork Belly, Bacon, Jam, American Cheese and Foi Gras on a bun. I have been looking forward to this for 12 months now. I got mine with only one patty, but it was still enormous and intimidating. Kelly ordered the Nosh Grilled Cheese which had Goat Cheese, Cheddar Cheese and Ham, topped with magical bacon dust. DELICIOUS!!!! We shared an order of the world-famous bacon-dusted duck fat fries. Oh....My....God. OHMYGOD!!!!! We also had two local beers with our heart-attack-on-a-plate, a Shipyard Export Ale for Kelly, and an Allagash Black for me, which was a strong Belgian-style stout
. Great choices. To top off our evening, our Russian waitress was kind enough, upon hearing of our honeymoon, to let us take two of the Maine pint glasses from the Shipyard Ales. SO COOL!!!! Note: On the way in, we swore we saw Will Wheaton. It was uncanny resemblance. However....we were saddened by not seeing Sheldon Cooper. :(
9pm...Back in the hotel room, and the fruits of our greasy and indulgent dinner are taking their toll....the coma is setting in.....vision fading...can't last much longerrrrrrrr..........the Dwarves delved too deep......the drums.....They are coming......they are here.......

Who cares about veggie options when you can have bacon dusted french fries?
The grilled cheese is veggie...and I think there were others. I added the ham to mine to get SOME nutrition. yeah right.
