Everyone slept in this morning before we headed out towards Johnston Canyon along scenic Hwy 1A.  We hiked 7 miles in the canyon, seeing the lower falls, the upper falls, and the ink pots.  We ate our lunch of peanut butter and honey sandwiches while sitting in the cold, drizzly rain at the ink pots, then did our return trip for a total time of just over 4 hours.

From there, we headed to Lake Louise, arriving in time for very strong, very cold winds along with a snow storm in the mountains off in the distance.  Our plans of hiking to the Tea House were cancelled for a variety of reasons, but we did the short hike up to Fairview Lookout for a spectacular view of the lake.

From there, we jumped on the fast Hwy 1 and drove through rain back towards Banff.  Luckily, the hard rain was not in Banff, so we did the gondola ride up Summit Mountain and walked around the top of the mountain.

Finally, we wrapped up the day downtown with a casual dinner.  Alycia broke her streak of eating pizza daily by switching to a hamburger tonight.

Only four pictures got through the hotel's internet tonight, so watch for updates in the future.  I promise not to publish all 180 pictures taken today!

Can't wait to see more of the pics - maybe not until you get home.... Snow in the distance, rain, wind, cold - hope it improves!
