Was up at 4.45am! Yes you read that correctly, 4.45am! Had some breky and got kitted out for the ride. Heated apparel at the ready and off we go at 5.30am. On my way in darkness and bloody freezin! Made it to the blue boys M&S before had to stop and turn up the heated vest. Had a slippery moment at Lamberhurst roundabout, that bloody woke me up if the cold didn't. Snowed for a while which added to the adventure. I wish those heated insoles came a few days early coz I had lost the feelin in my feet. Had a hot choccy at Toddington and then steamed on toward Burton. Made good time on the M6 toll road and the sun was up at last and the roads dry. 200 miles done!

Got to Jim's yard about 10.00am and most of the Pan Am crew were already there. Good to see all the bikes fully loaded and ready to rumble. We tried to thaw out in the sun for a while before changing into civvies. Had a chat with everyone and said goodbye to the bikes. That's the last we will see them till Buenos Aires in March.

Got a lift to the train station and headed home. Burton on Trent-Tamworth-Euston London-Underground-Charing cross-Burger King-Bexhill and about 120 lighter between us! Cant think why people don't wanna use public transport.

That's a big weight of the mind now the bike has gone. Just a few loose ends to tie up and then we can relax and look forward to March 17th and the start of a trip of a lifetime.
