Trip End

Hey everyone! How are we all doing on this fine day? Everything is going smooth here on my end. Our trip to Tokyo is coming to an end here in a couple days. Only one more full day then off to our final resting place of Chengdu China, which will be home for the next 10weeks. This trip to tokyo has been everything that ive expected and soo much more. So many memories were made here with friends that I have come to grow close to. We all have this experience together that wont be forgotten. I can honestly say that this experience has changed me greatly by opening me up to different cultures and experiences other parts that the world has to offer.
Today we got up around 7am to journey on over to the worlds biggest fish market. This place is called Tsukiji Market and puts all other American fish markets to shame. I thought Pike Place was a big fishing place but this one easily towers over it. While walking through you were trying to look at everything while looking over one shoulder trying not to get ran over by a piece of machinery. Getting into the market was like a city of its own. It went on as far as the eye could see with all different kids of fish and seafood. They dont toss the fish though like Pike's, I guess they dont care for that show-offy attitude like we do. haha. I was doing some reading up on it and it says that not only is it the largest fish market, but it also the largest wholesale food markets of any other kind. There are over 900 licensed dealers dealing from their small stands. The total revenue brought in by these fisherman amass nearly $5.5billion providing nearly 65,000 jobs.
After that we decided to go and see the Imperial Palace. This is like going to see the White House in the States. The grounds is home to the Emperor of Japan along with his wife and his daughter (princess). The grounds here are wide open with lots of grounds. We were lucky enough to see the changing of the guards. It was pretty cool to see them do this. They would walk in military fashion, address each other, and switch posts. Afterwards we all wanted to go home since we wanted to relax before finally hitting the town tonight. The clubs and bar scene doesnt really start here until 11 or 12pm and goes until 5am. They stay out all night because the trains are shut down for the night and nobody wants to pay for a cab.
With only one fully day left here in Tokyo, were thinking of going back to the Shibuya district to do some shopping since when we were there before we didnt go into any of the stores because we were all pretty tired and it was raining hard. Might finally look into getting a nice jacket somewhere and get it custom fitted over in china.
Anywho, thanks for checkin in on me. Im lookin forward to posting whatever China has to offer us soon. Take care, talk to you soon!
