Although it wasn't a long trip by any means, I got the chance to check out Eric Marienthal (one of the best sax players alive today) playing some jazz fusion down in Basel. BIG THANKS to my friend back home for pointing out that he would be playing (only found out the day before)!
Anyway, I managed to drag 6 other people down for the show, which was fantastic. The guy is absolutely insane at the saxophone. He was playing with the Jeff Lorber Fusion Band, whom I had never heard of.
Erika and I managed to say hi after the show and he even remembered playing with us back in Calgary! Well... he remembered that he was in Calgary.
