Today we head to the Grand Tetons. As we leave our campground, we see the herd of buffalo that invaded the grounds last night and it looks like they've been reunited with the baby buffalo that wandered onto our campground two nights ago. Hooray!

We also see a herd of buffalo walking down the main road out of the park, halting traffic entering and exiting the park. From there, we check out Old Faithful geyser and she ends up blasting just a couple of minutes after the 12:09 predicted time.

They just opened the road from Yellowstone to the Grand Tetons only four days before, so once again, we picked just the right time to visit!

The drive is a pretty one with snow piled high along the road and the Grand Tetons finally coming into view. We drive past frozen lakes and lakes that are so still, they create a perfect mirror image of the mountains.

There are only two campgrounds open in the park right now, so we choose the one closest to the city of Jackson Hole in the Gros Ventre Wilderness. [It also seemed to have less potential for a bear run-in than the first one we checked out at Jenny Lake that was nearly empty.] We set up our tent, visit the town of Jackson for a quick re-supply and on our way back to the campground we spot a wolf walking along the banks of a river about two miles from our campground (see video).

And then as we're driving along the entrance to our campground, we spot our first ever moose (see video).

The sun is out beaming...so we set up our camp chairs and read in silence for a good hour or so.

Tonight for dinner: more hotdogs and S’mores!
