June 4th Paris,

Everyone needs to see Paris at some point in their life. This place is amazing…but don't let me get ahead of myself. Let’s first start off with the wonderful difficulties we had upon arrival. After landing in Paris around 10 AM, taking a 1 hour bus ride to the actual city center (Ryanair is super cheap and great for these adventures, but often lands you in airports off the main grid), and then realizing we didn’t print off the address or directions to our hostel we spent another hour and half wandering around Paris with our 40 pound packs on in the heat! First lesson learned the hard way, print out your directions from the airport/train station to your hostel before getting there! We finally were saved by asking a young lady if we could borrow her iPhone to search for the address and get directions.

After finally arriving at around 2 PM to our Young and Happy Hostel in Paris, we checked our packs, took a few minutes break then set off to start some exploring. Our hostel was located in the Latin District which I researched as the most lively, cultural and interesting area to stay in Paris. This was absolutely on the money, tons of shops, cafes, bakeries, stores and no lack of people or entertainment at any point we were very satisfied with our location. We walked around to orientate ourselves with the city, stopped by the Notre Dame, looked at the Seine River, spent some time at the Pantheon and just admired the unbelievable architecture Paris has. The sheer scale, detail and history of these buildings are so amazing it is not possible to describe to anyone who has not seen it themselves. After a few hours of walking around we made it back over towards our district, picked up some crepes, took showers, changed and got ready to go out some around the town. We spent some time walking to different districts to see what was going on around the city but called it at night somewhat early because of our hectic day.
