The Cinque Terre are 5 tiny fishing villages squeezed into a small area where the mountains meet the sea. It's amazingly beautiful, with hiking-walking trails between all the villages. While I was there I explored all the villages, walking random pathways through the hills, climbing to all the vantage points I could find. While you're there you also have to walk between all the towns, which I did one day.
The weather was great during my four days there. I spent countless hours reading and writing in the sun at different spots all over the towns and beaches. I finally picked up a mask and snorkled a good amount too, basically at every spot I saw something interesting.
I stayed in an apartment with 7 beds and great people. All of them were on the bus-about tour of Europe, which is a good way to go if you want more structure and organization with your trip (a europass or eurorail has a bit more freedom inmy opinion). We hung out a lot, cooked, went to the bar (the only one open late), and had parties on the beach at night. It was so relaxing and I was a bit sad to leave, but at the same time ready to move on. I left on the morning of the 19th.
