Last year we camped for the last time that season at the KOA in Bellingham, this is a nice and not overly expensive park, so we visited the park again, and while we are connected to the sewer and water we give the rig one last interior clean before we head to Olympia to store it for another year.
It takes about three days to prepare the rig for the winter , I water blast( pressure wash) the rig thoroughly, and apply "Wet and Forget" to the RV roof, which stops any mildew over the winter, I also fully winterise the plumbing . Then its parked in the field and the cover is installed.The truck also gets a good clean and polish.
This year we rented a car from enterprise and drove it one way from Olympia to Port Angeles, where we boarded the ferry to Victoria. The car rental was $101 including a $50 drop off charge.
We have been in Victoria for 5 days now, its great to see Amanda and Jonathan. Yesterday was thanks giving and I cooked a turkey " with all the trimmings".
I note on the New Zealand Herald web site that the weather in Auckland is improving, which is good news as its certainly getting cooler here and Fall is upon us.
We leave to fly back to Auckland on Wednesday evening, its been another great year "on the road", and we are already starting to think about next year.
