We have enjoyed the last few days immensely, we are at a town called............Intercourse, in the state of Pennsylvania. No really that is what it's called!!!!It is an Amish and Mennonite community, where they still drive around in little horse drawn buggies. They have largely turned their back upon modern society, many have roadside stands where you can buy inexpensive and very fresh farm produce, home baked pies, and the meat is unbelievable. As you might imagine there are quite a few tourists around, but they seem to stick to the towns and the tourist traps, which leaves the back roads to us!!
Today we stumbled upon an Amish auction raising money for the local fire station; we spent the better part of a day there, surrounded by men with beards and women with long dresses, and little white bonnets. Their food is always a great price, and we all ate for less than $8.
What an experience watching everything from horse gear including saddles and bridles, to beautiful quilts that were sold about a 1/3 of the price they do in the stores.
Jo bid on about 6 things but was not successful on any of them to her disappointment.
I kept saying "where are you going to put that?" but they were pretty impressive.
This is the first place that Jo would like to stay for more than 3 or 4 days.
Tomorrow we go further north, up to another state park called Ricketts Glenn it is a park that is known for its water falls and hiking trails.

Hi Brent & Jo
Fred and I have really enjoyed reading your adventures - and we've both been going green with envy!!! Can't believe it's been over a year since we were doing the same as you two - this time last year we were in Cherokee, NC. Looking forward to seeing more entries.

Totally engrossing reading!
HI guys

Fred here this time. I'm at work but have spent the better part of today sitting and reading every single page of your blog...yes it's been a quiet day here, not much work coming in so what better time to drool over your travels.

What an awesome time you have been having. Is it too late for you to adopt me and Tracey and our kids? An extended family vacation would not go amiss.

Just by chance I see see Tracey has also posted a message - just coincidence that she and I have both been reading your blog today. Just wish you had more photos (please!).

Cheers for now
Fred
