We had read that the eastern sea shore of Virginia and Chincoteague peninsula was worth seeing, and while we enjoyed our visit it did seem a little over rated. We stayed at a National Park, actually we got the last RV site available and it wasn't long before the wild horses that this area is famous for were visiting us. The adjacent beach is fantastic, complete with squeaky white sand, sand dunes and a little horse excrement. The water was a little cold for us, but it was real nice to be near the water.
