WHAT WE SAW: Battle site from Civil War. Another Golf Course
OUR STORY: It was a pretty easy drive and as soon as the rig was parked Brent jumped into the truck to go and see the Battle Site. There wasn't much to see except that the battle took place on a big ridge over looking the Tenn River, where some pretty impressive houses now stand. Some with canons positioned on their front lawns.
I on the other hand jumped onto my bike and cycled down to check out the golf course. As fate would have it they were coring and sanding the greens so it was closed for 3 days.
Instead I went and stopped at a old cemetery and read the tomb stones some from as early as 1825.
If you get in early there were some very special camp sites right on the lake but as you can imagine in the height of the summer we were not luck enough to get one of those.
