I love grocery shopping in Shanghai. Most everything just comes in this transparent, hand-wrapped plastic bag. And it's really so cheap. In picture with the food on the counter you see what is, in my opinion, a lot of food; but this food really only cost like RMB20 ($3.00 USD). Not bad! And it's all vegetarian. Can't complain. But the 'vegetarian ham' is the one item that I bought and have been afraid to eat since. But tonight I conquered that fear and, despite the weird texture, it wasn't that bad! Have a closer look at eating and cooking (if you can call it that) in Shanghai.
