Well Huanchaco was a nice welcome to la costa de Peru! Good surf, clean beaches and GREAT seafood! Welcome to Northern Peru!

Huanchaco is small and full of locals, aka not many gringos! I knew I was going to like and wished I had more then 2 days but due school starting Monday and the fact I didn't want to leave Huaraz meant solo 2 dias!

I stayed in some weird little hotel as all the hostels were full it was interesting, but i did manage to get a whole room to myself it was maybe 0.5 stars but who`s being picky on my budget jaja and i will admit with the surf contest in town there was some `talent´ also staying here so always something to look at and there was frequent wafts of a certain type of herb throughout the hotel at various times through the day night too jaja interesting times indeed!

My favorite thing in Huanchaco honestly though was the restaurant Otra Cosa amazing vegetarian food, a little out of my price range but SOOO worth it! I frequented there often since we all know HOW much this kiwi loves her food! The Burrito Royal NNNAAAAMMMMIIII

I was lucky enough to catch the Haunchaco Long board Pro as well, it was a great way to pass the time while sunning my self and working on the tan! They have some great left hand breaks here, and it was cranking for the competition so conditions were perfect! And every night un grande fiesta on the beach, good times in Huanchaco!

You will see form the photos too the local fishing vessels, again this is another seaside town where the main industry is seafood! These have to be the coolest fishing boats tho ever, compact environmentally friendly and fun! You see them all coming well surfing in every evening it looks beautiful especially in front of the sunset, you can get rides on them too but I didn't indulge not really sure why, I guess I was just hanging out to ride a surf board on the waves rather then a cane fishing boat! No se......

Anyway I would love to stop back here again when I am next in Peru...... Hmm who knows when that will be? But hopefully one day soon!

Next stop es MANCORA let`s see what all the fuss is about a.....

Chau for now peoples, besitos!
