After driving down the PCH and through the redwoods forest (awesome!), I made my way into a foggy SF.  Before I set out on this adventure, I had no idea how much family would play a role. Having spent time with a whole side of my family I never knew at this point, I feel blessed to be included in such good company. I met up with my cousin Kim where he works, in the Presidio. He works in film and it was a lot of fun to see the building and area. His family is awesome. I met my second cousins (once removed) and Kim's wife Diane. They were so gracious and welcoming. And I was lucky to catch Robin (the oldest kid) before he headed back to college in Portland. Their younger is Wren, a sweet and extroverted 15 with aspirations of performing in the circus or similar. I guess this stuff runs in the family. Unfortunately, I only had a few days to spend with them and the city. I had to prep myself for Burning Man and I only had one real day to explore the city. I did get a chance to see the Japanese Gardens and the Science Academy, along with a walk through the city Gardens and North Bay.  The last night in San Fran happened by accident. I had planned to meet up with an old high school buddy of mine, but when those plans fell through, I got to meet and stay with some other new cousins in Oakland, just outside SF proper. That would end up being a meeting that would start a new friendship with a family member I never knew existed, and now, couldn't imagine without.
