The weather in Hamburg was quite reflective of the overall mood. Rain clouds scattered the sky, with the occasional barrage of a rain shower here and there. Sadness was definitely present. Today was the day I would leave the family I have grown to love in Hamburg and leave for my new family, my year-family, in Bremen. As tears streamed down my face I said my final goodbyes, and then got onto my train. Oh how this had been a great four weeks. Every day I had a language and culture course. This had given me a routine and familiarity. Leaving this all behind, I was be traveling into the future, almost blindly it felt. But then I saw it. The clouds were reluctantly giving way to a few small rays of sun. The next part of my adventure had begun, whether or not I was ready. So it is with this in mind that I continue on my little adventure called life, remembering the past but keeping room for the future.
