Quaker Steak & Lube

Whenever ‘Traveling Adventurously”, one can expect to find
pleasant surprises along the way. Quaker Steak and Lube is one of those
surprises. The story goes something like this. As soon as we got off of the
Ohio Turnpike we absolutely had to stop for my sister Caitlin to use the
restroom! We had a late lunch, so we weren’t planning eating a whole lot. That
was about to change. I saw some oddly placed neon lights from the expressway
and we investigated it further. At first glance it appeared to be some strange
service station. Upon further exploration we found out it was a sports bar and
restaurant. It was that and so much more. Created in 1976 by two friends who
renovated a repair shop, Quaker Steak and Lube is a restaurant with a great feel.
We were seated in the Corvette Room. There were two vintage Corvettes lifted
above the tables and a gutted one upside-down above our table. This restaurant
is home to many instant favorites such as Lube-n-ade, Lube Burger, Thunderbird
Steak, and over twenty flavors of wings! My personal favorite was the Lime
& Tequila BBQ Wings. The food was spectacular, and there was a lot of it. I
would recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience!
