We spent one day in Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake is famous for the flamingos and rhinos. We found out later it is also famous for baboons! One adult male baboon (120 to 140 pounds) ambushed us at an overlook. We had shut the windows and doors to the van, but it jumped up on the roof and started to climb into through the pop top. We were all standing outside the van admiring the view. Brad courageously charged the baboon, thinking it would run away. But it jumped down and charged right back at him. Brad let out a little girl's scream and ducked behind another van. At which time, it charged Sandi and then Desmond and Kate. Satisfied after instilling fear in all of us, it climbed off the overlook.
