Dad and I took an overnight bus to the largest salt flat in the world.  Uyuni salt flat is visible from space.  The bus ride was incredible.  We spent about 3 hours on dirt roads that were completely washboard.  The town of Uyuni is a dusty little hole, but the salt flat is incredible.

We took a 4WD across the salt flat.  There is water on part of it this time of year.  We got out and walked in the water.  We went to a former island in the sea that has 1,200 year old cactus and weird coral formations in the middle of the desert.  They even build houses out of the salt.  We stopped at a hotel made of salt blocks.  It was crazy.
