We picked up Joe and headed straight to Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world! We figured we had to do something fun and exciting and seeing as jumping out of a plane was not cheap or appealing to Becs, we decided to go white water rafting down the shotover river. It was freezing but so much fun. Turned out not to be as hectic as we expected but that allowed Brad to be able to pull out some Indiana Jones moves and faces...check out the photos!!!!! All around queenstown is really beautiful, there's enough to do to keep anyone occupied whether you like the adrenalin rush or are a bit quiter. We stayed with Joe in Arrowtown which is a historic gold mining town and very sweet. We met loads of really nice people and Brad was given a New Zealand rugby jersey from a guy he'd only met for a few minutes!
We took a day trip down to Milford sound which turned into a long day but was worth it. Took a boat trip around the sound (or Fjord) which was beautiful even on a day that was quite overcast and rainy. Our photos don't do it any justice. We loved every minute of South Island...its a definite must for anyone who is interested in beauty or taking photos.
Sometimes when you travel you find that places don't meet up to the expectations you have whether its because someone had a better day than you or perhaps the weather didn't turn out the way you wanted.
So far on our trip there have been a few things that have most definitely lived up to all the hype.
1. The Taj Mahal, Agra India.
2. The culinery delights of South East Asian and Indian food.
3. Watching S.A. take on Aus in the Boxing day test match at the MCG.
AND MOST CERTAINLY....
4. South Island New Zealand!!!!!!!!!!!
