Where I stayed
Brians Place

Up until this point, I have been able to compact and compress my experiences to a few short sentences, and still feel like I have described myself well. I will never be able to describe my Christmas in Tokamaru bay adequately.

Brians place is a very small, very eco-friendly hostel built into the side of a rather steep hill. Its location afforded it an amazing view of the bay, and it had a very nice deck with a good stereo with capability of hooking my Ipod to it. The place was full, but the manager let me put up my tent in a small notch in the hillside. After I set up camp, I went to mingle with the other guests.

When confronted with the question about the length of their stay, nearly every person gave me the same blank stare, as they carefully tried to assemble an answer. Some had been there for weeks, some for days, but no one could tell me exactly. So it became for me, I soon realized the combination of this sleepy little town with a nice beach, and a chilled little hostel with cool people, created a strange rift in the universe that rendered time immaterial.
