After some last minute packing crises we finally left in our rented Chevy Impala and hit the Holland Tunnel at 9am Thursday, leaving New York in the dust! We headed straight for the beach - the Jersey Shore to be precise, where we found a giant elephant called Lucy, and some wonderful elegant Victorian mansions in Margate. We carried on down the coast, before taking the ferry across to Delaware - which had towns called Lewes and Seaford in Sussex County, and lovely farmland and farmers market. We couldn't stay long though - Baltimore was calling...
