Boz - Its a stunning day in Wellington so we decided to do the Lord of the rings tour a short 2 1/2 hour of some of the sites and stories of Wellingtons role in the film.
At $70 i thought it was a bit steep but it was an interesting tour and took us some locations film and scenic, we got told about the longest film premier red carpet ever..
and how during a cricket match, ( NZ vs England one dayer at the Westpac stadium ) director Peter Jackson recorded 30,000 fans chanting in Black Speech for the sound of 10,000 chanting Uruk-hai during the battle of Helm's Deep in the film The Two Towers.
Nic- The LOTR's tour which was great. Wellington is a small city and I am surprised it is the capital as I expected it to be bigger. There is a lovely quay and a beach. We hired cycles and biked round the coast, was about 15 miles (I don't do hills and pushed my bike up a huge mountain, whizzing down was fun though) my unused muscles suffered the next day, was painful walking up stairs.
30th Dec
boz -we had a walk into town sorted hire car out for the rest of the holiday and went and hired bikes.
we set off for a bit of a cycle around the coast but by the time we had finished we had done a whole lap which is more than 15 miles, wow stunning scenery and lovely weather tho :)
