After a brief hiatus, my travelogues begin again. For those of you who were around last time, welcome back; for those new to the scene, welcome to my travelpod.

Over my travels, this site has become my link with the outside world. Like the rest of you, I've grown fed up with mass emails, and am doing my small part to save the whales by not propogating the problem. Instead, as I travel, I intend to post on this site. What will I post? Stories: highs and lows; the food I eat, from chicken feet to fish heads; the places I see, from towering mountains to secluded beaches; and the people I meet, both travellers and locals alike. While I tend to be a rather longwinded author - which certainly should not surprise anyone who's ever met me - I have been told my travelogues are rather entertaining. If anything, it should certainly brighten up dreary winter mornings wherever on planet Earth you might be.

I can't tell you where you are - I can tell you a little more about where I'm going to be. I'm quasi-graduating from the Ivey School of Business in December - a designation I'm certainly proud of given the eons of hard work, postive class contributions, and whatever else is the opposite of sitting on the couch all weekend watching football. I say 'quasi' because achieving my degree is contingent on the successful completion of an exchange to Hong Kong University. And thus, the answer to the 'Where?' question...

On January 11th, I'm flying out to Hong Kong to commence several months of study abroad. I'll be living in residence - hopefully, if they can find me a room, otherwise it may be in a box or discarded chinese food container. In addition to attending school, I intend to travel; this travelogue will be the link to tell my stories to you. Where I go around HK, at this point, is still conjecture. There are several places on the tip of my tongue, but why ruin the surprise? Regardless of which path I take, I'm sure I'll meet my fair share of adventures and misadventures that will hopefully make you chortle on your morning coffee.

But wait, there's more. Because I don't plan on leaving until the 11th, I have a 5 week gap with nothing to do. The answer (unsurpisingly)? Travel more. This Sunday, December 15th, I'm flying south to Belize with my dad. We plan to spend 3 weeks diving, trekking and exploring Belize and Guatemala. I should be back - and hopefully in one piece - for several days, before catching my flight to Asia.

Anyway, I hope you take my invitation and start reading. I'll try my very best to keep you somewhat entertained.

The adventures begin....
