Yet another bus ride and this time it is to Mawlamyine (all the foreigners pronounce it Moulmein).  Luckily people were looking out for me once again!!!  I don't think the bus I was on actually had a stop in Moulmein. At least, it did not drive into the bus station but instead the Driver's helper signaled me to get ready to get off on the side of the Main highway and indicated that the bus station was on the other side of the street. Before I knew it I was back to negotiating a "motorbike taxi"  into town. I checked out the Breeze Rest House but the only room they had looked more like a jail cell on the  2nd floor with shower and bathroom on the main floor!!! I decided to go check elsewhere but the choice is very limited.  There are two decent hotels if one wants to pay 30$ or more but after my expenses in Bagan and my flights (instead of buses)  I decided I should really stick to a low budget!!!! so I returned to Breeze Rest House and decided that if I had survived so far I could do a few more nights in a "claustophobic" room at $7/night!!!  Check out the room!!!!  After having checked in and as I was on my way out for a walk a met the French lady (Mireille) that I had met in Yangon. As we stood talking another Canadian traveller that she had met earlier walked in and the three of us decided to go out for diner together. Lovely evening and we planned to meet the next morning to go to the market and discover more of this town.  Mireille told me that she would be off to Hpa-An tomorrow on the 1 pm government  boat. I had planned to do the same trip but later in the week. However, they told me that the next boat was on Friday which really didn't work for me. I decided I would join Mireille and then return to Moulmein by bus 2 days later.
