Today I visited the three kratons (Sultan Palace) in Ciberon starting with Kraton Kesephuhan
(entrance fee is 3000 + 2000 for camera) then Kraton Kanoman and my day ended at Kraton Kecirebonan.  Both Kraton Kesephuhan and Kanoman were very interesting and definitely worth the visit. As I was interested in some cultural dances and performances, the hotel had called and had told me that there would be a cultural dance at Kraton Kecirebonan at 4 p.m..  This is the palace where the present Sultan and family still lives.  So I show up at 4 p.m. and there is absolutely no one around.  I walk around and there is someone working in the garden but he cannot speak english and as I turn there is a young man that comes out of nowhere and I ask him about the dance but he doesn't seem to speak much english but he insists that I sit down and that he will get someone that speaks english. After some time, he returns with a young lady that explains to me that there is no dancing today and apologizes. She introduces herself as well as introducing the young man.  It turns out that he is the Sultan's brother, Prince Bluegun and Miss Susan is the Sultan's niece.  She invites me to her home to watch a video of the local dances and puppet show. She is living with her mother, Princess Eca,  just beside the palace. We watch the video, have a conversation and exchange e-mail addresses. What a pleasure it was to meet both Prince Blue Gun and Miss Susan. Both were so friendly. After leaving, I realize I hadn't even visited the palace!!!!
