Lot's of weather, them morning started out cloudy and the rain had passed that evening. The day progressed and with it the weather improved and so did the hills. After the second SAG stop the skies became dark and started chasing us to the motel, also the amount and severity of the climbs also incerased to the point where I had to take shelter in an open garage. There was no car in the garage and I called out but nobody answered and then the family came home! Richard an ex dairy farmer now retired and a recent widower was happy to have some company and we had a nice chat as the storm went through. When the storm passed I stayed a little longer to let him finish the story of his wife's walk home and then we said our farwell and off to the motel, I was less that 10 miles on a 103 mile day. We also climbed just over 4,000 feet. I am hungry and tired. dinner and sleep will be great. Amazing how much I have learned to appreciate the little things.

Serrendipitous garage for shelter!
Neat that your stop for protection from the weather gave your temporary host some nice contact to share the story of his wife's passing. Probably did him a world of good and makes us all count our blessings!
Glad you avoided the hole in the bridge!!
Did you get to try any of Ohio's product en route?
Keep on peddling!

Sounds like you're having a pretty soggy trip. Funny how you take a lot of things for granted until you experience something outside of your normal realm. I'm glad you were able to give your 'garage' friend a few moments to talk about his wife. Talking helps tremendously. It's Saturday and I'm alone in the office getting caught up. We have closed the door to your office because we couldn't stand to see all the paperwork piling up - just kidding. But we do look forward to having you back. Have a safe weekend.
