So after the craziness and lack of sleep in Hervey Bay and Fraser, Luke and I boarded the buses that took us to a tiny little town off the backpacker track called Agnes Water, which is basically made up of four houses, a little shopping center, and Cool Bananas, our hostel. Right next door, and really the reason for going to Agnes Water is The Town of 1770, named this because that's when Capt Cook landed there while exploring Australia. Now, 1770 is a very laidback place with a very pretty stretch of beach and when Luke and I got there, we immediately got into the rhythm of life there. Basically we slept, went to the beach when it stopped raining, read and watched movies when it was raining, and slept some more. It was very similar to our Fiji experience actually, but with a little more sun, and was just what we needed. So it wasn't an action-packed couple of days, it was our time to reflect on the adventures we had already had. And though it was sad to say goodbye to my little brother and get on that horrid night bus, I was happy in the fact that we just had such an awesome time together. Team America forever!
