We started our sightseeing in Downtown Denver at lunchtime. We grabbed some very yummy BLTs from The Market on Larimer Street and enjoyed them in their outside dining area. We then checked into a fun boutiquey type hotel named The Curtis. Each floor of the hotel has a theme so it can be a little fun to make a stop at each floor on the elevator to see what it says! It is in a
very accessible & walkable location to the downtown & Lodo area. What first appealed to me about this hotel was the name. As my husband's name is Curtis I just really thought he'd get a kick out of it. I snagged a great deal on this hotel too, which really sealed the deal for me! It was their "crazy 8" special on hotelbook.com - I found the amazing deal via Kayak.com.
When we reached our room Curt began searching the hotel for any "Curtis" items he could find...he managed to snag The Curtis toiletries, which are now showcased in our guest bath, notepaper, pens, and "If this sign is a rockin', don't come a knockin - The Curtis" door signs.
After check in we went out to explore Denver and made stops at The State Capitol, Civic Center Park, The Denver Pavillion, 16th Street Mall and the Tattered Cover Bookstore. After all the walking we were famished and found dinner at Lime. Soooo YUMMY! I'm begining to salvate as I think of their amazing chips (think taco salad bowl) and fantastic tacos! The Margaritas weren't too shabby either! Dinnerpretty much concluded our trip as we had an early flight to catch, but
I'm sure it won't be the last time we go to Colorado!
