Today I woke up at 6, had breakfast at 7:15, bags to coach was at 7:45, and then at 8, we left for our drive to Venice. The Rome campsite was a cashless site, so we had to use these cash cards while we were there. And Kellie told us we could turn them back in for money at the bar. So I tried doing that the night before, and the bartender told me I had to go to the office in the morning instead. He told me it opened at 6:30, but it didn't open until 7. I did eventually get my €30 back, but it was such a pain, especially since I never ended up using it. So if you stay here, only get the cash card if you're positive that you'll be spending money at the campsite.

We drove for a couple hours, then stopped at a rest stop, then drove a couple more hours until we got to the Venice campground. I was rooming with Rhiannon and Kim, and they were freaking out about all the bugs in our cabin. I had to kill a spider with my shoes. We only had about 15 minutes to get settled before we had to hop on the ferry over to the main part of Venice. The ferry ride took about half an hour.

It rained pretty much the whole time we were in Venice. At 4:30, we had our optional gondola rides (€21). It was pretty miserable getting hit in the head with people's umbrellas and stuff the whole time, but I tried to at least get some pretty pictures. I really wish I could experience Venice without the rain.

After the gondola rides, we had a little bit of free time where a bunch of people got hot chocolate. While we were sitting down out of the rain, a lot of people who had planned to do the walking tour started to have second thoughts. The walking tour only cost €11, so quite a few people who had already paid to do it decided not to go. And a few people who started the tour with us dropped out halfway through. By the end of the tour, there were only eleven of us left. So the eleven of us decided to go to dinner together.

We kept getting lost along the way. We would turn a corner and end up walking up to a bunch of water with nowhere else to go. Finally, we listened to Veronica and found an awesome restaurant. I ordered a pizza and gave away a lot of it and still left full.

After dinner, we caught the ferry back to the campsite. I sat up on top this time because it wasn't really raining much anymore. Luckily my roommates just wanted to go to sleep as soon as we got back, so that's what we did.
