Today, Katherine, Jo, and I signed up to go to Australia Zoo. Most people didn't do it because there was already a zoo included in their tour later on, but Jo really, really wanted to go, and I wasn't going to be on the tour anymore, so I wanted to go, too. It was pretty much a full day with just me, Katherine, and Jo. It was a really long drive just to get back in that direction, but I think it was worth it.

I didn't feel too great today, though. We were looking at the reptiles and stuff first thing after we got there, and I just kept feeling dizzy and sick. Finally, we went to see a croc feeding show, and I was happy to get to sit down for a while. We sat right in the sun, which felt good, but apparently wasn't the best idea. They had birds trained to fly across the little stadium and stuff, and it was pretty cool. But suddenly, I started to feel really sick. I asked Katherine if she still had sick bags with her, but she didn't. She tried to help me get up, but my arms and legs felt all wobbly and I couldn't stand. Then I turned my head and threw up and collapsed onto Katherine.

Jo got up to go find help, and she said that on the way back, the workers spoke into their walkie talkies about how they had to distract Charlie (the crocodile) so that they could walk past. That was pretty funny. But anyway, the workers brought over umbrellas to hold over me, and they gave me Powerade and stuff to help me get better. After the croc show was over, I was able to stand up and walk over to their little medical room where they had me lie on a bed for a while. I had never felt like that before, where I was too weak to even lift my head. It was scary. I'm really glad that Katherine and Jo were there to help. <333

Once I felt better, we went upstairs for lunch. I had an "American Burger" with fries. We also found ice cream, and we didn't understand why an ice cream called "violet crumble" would be brown and yellow, so we had to ask what it was. When the woman said it was honeycomb, I NEEDED to try it, and it ended up being amazing. I'm a major ice cream person, and this was the best ice cream I had during my whole Australia and New Zealand trip. I wish I had some right now! D=

The rest of the day at the zoo was much better. I still wasn't feeling 100%, but I felt a lot better and actually got to enjoy the rest of the zoo. I'm not sure how Australia Zoo compared to the zoo that was included in the longer tour, but if you're like me and this is your only chance to go to a zoo in Australia, I think it's definitely worth doing.

When we got back to the hotel, we met up with Lee to hear how his skydive and tiger moth biplane flight were. I think he had fun, but he didn't look like he was feeling too great. We left him alone so he could get a nap before dinner, and we met up with Nathan who finally got to watch some of his beloved basketball. For dinner, some people chose Hard Rock Cafe and others chose Nando's, so we ended up in two different groups. I went with the Nando's group because it seemed cheaper and I wasn't very hungry. I was starting to feel sick again at this point, and I was afraid I would throw up. I barely ate any of my burrito, and I think I ended up leaving it in the hotel refrigerator after I left. It wasn't bad--I just wasn't feeling great. But this was officially my last night on the tour, so I didn't want to just stay in the hotel all night. At least I tried to be social, even though it didn't work.

After dinner, Katherine, Jo, and I went to Lee's room to watch the Olympics. He was sharing with Nathan and Lorne, and we joked about how I should have slept in Nathan's bed that night just to see how he would react when he got back. But, knowing Nathan, that wouldn't have ended well. I did fall asleep in my chair, though. I don't think I saw any of the Olympics. I said bye to Lee when Katherine, Jo, and I left to go to bed, but I was pretty sure I'd see them all again in Sydney anyway because their tour ended at the doorstep of the hotel where I was staying. =P
