Where I stayed
The home of Charles and Alice Clary
May 12-May 16 After leaving my son in SanDiego,California I traveled east toward home but decided on a stop in Ruidoso, New Mexico. When I called the Clary residence to see if they were in town I was greated with great enthusiasm by both Charles and Alice who I have not seen in many years we figured at least 10-12 years. We haven't even kept in contact but these people are always carried in my heart. They are the most welcoming and loving people I have ever known. They have seen me through some really though times with much love and real down to earth assistance. So I arrived in Ruidoso at about 5:30 Wednesday evening. We had decided to meet at the church that Pastor Clary and Alice started several years ago. It is a big red barn on the outside but inside it is a wonderful tribute to the King of Kings Jesus Christ. Pictures of the Church will be included in my pictures as well as pictures of the Clary home and some interesting sites around Ruidoso. We had a wonderful home cooked meal prepared by Alice talked some and soon had to say good night. We decided that I would stay a few days so that we could catch up on each other's lives. Alice and Charles have 4 natural daughters and 3 adopted daughters and I believe 24 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. I have the exact number in my papers but I think these figures are close. I can't imagine keeping up with this many people but you can bet that they do. Alice, Charles and I met in Arlington Tx where we lived in the same neighborhood. The next day we spent again catching up on each others children and grandchildren, our beliefs and various other topics. We went out with some of the Clary friends for dinner and also to see the inside of the church. Friday we spent watching some wonderful films that Alice and Charles granddaughter acted and sang in. It was wonderful. I enjoyed this so much. This little girl looked exactly like her mother who was about the same age as when we all knew each other. Just so enjoyable. I decided that I had better leave Saturday morning so I left Ruidoso at 0730 May 15 and thought I would drive the entire 10 hr drive but at about 5:00 pm I became so tired that I decided I just was not safe on the hwy's and stayed the night in a Motel in Ozona Tx. Then headed out at 0900 this am and stopped in Fredricksburg Tx for my last fat laden meal before I return to my normal eating and exercising programs. This is my last entry in this blog and I want everyone to know that there is no way that I could have done this trip without the hand of God upon me. It was sometimes so frightening and sometimes I wanted to turn back but that was not a choice. We sang this song tonight at Mass and I will share the words. I was lost and you found me; in the darkness, you were my light, When I fell down, you forgave me, lifted me up and held me to your side. Sweet redeemer, I surrender all I am to you.Blessings to all who are reading this and thank you for following along with me.
