April 30-May 2. Had a most wonderful and relaxing weekend with many brothers and sisters of the Catholic faith. Many new insights gained, many wonderful people. Was really struggling with weather to go on to Oregon or to head straight to California. The retreat ended late on Sunday and I knew I couldn't make it all the way to Beaverton Oregon where I had my next reservation. Had many kind offers to stay with others in the area but decided to go half way to Beaverton tonight and finish out the trip in the morning. It was the right decision. I would never have been able to make another marathon drive today. Retreats are relaxing in refreshing in one respect and draining in another. So much to learn and so much that cannot be absorbed in one weekend. I must add that I am so proud to be a part of the Holy Catholic Church and all it's beauty. For every fallen saint there are millions of hero's just as in all ordinary life. Those of you how choose not to participate in the organized church I would ask, Do you also choose not to participate in life?  We are in a constant struggle good vs evil. This is in every part of society. Enough of my soap box for the Church. The scenery from Boise Idaho to Pendleton Oregon is outstandingly beautiful. Soft rolling hills and huge mountains. All shades of green and brown. Beautiful tall pine trees, sprinklings of wild flowers. Beautiful water ways. The artist has again been at work along the hwy's of Oregon and I am not even half way through. I will post pictures of the kind and caring people I met at the retreat along with pictures of the outstanding meals that were provided by a chef. I think I will go to sleep and write again the next time I stop. Bye and to all my new friends from Boise Idaho and the surrounding area what a pleasure to meet you and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings, Bonnie

Don Dassel on

Retreats are rewarding, It is good to spend days away from the outside world and reflect on our purpose on earth, and on the spiritual aspects of our life and on our eternal life.

Looking forward to hearing about the west coast travel, I've heard it is beautiful.
