Where I stayed
Highlight of the day was when we went to see the 'Wings Of America' show (a birds of prey show) at one of the pavilions there. Had all sorts of birds of prey. Beautiful birds. Those of you that know me however know that I have this horrible aversion to any sort of vulture. Nasty things make my skin crawl just looking at them. If I believed in previous lives I would swear I had been eaten by one once. Anyway, they had one of those and Tim, being helpful decided to volunteer me when they asked for assistance with that particular bird. Apparently, the look on my face was enough to let the show person realize that's the LAST thing I'd ever want to do, so instead, she picked him. He got to lay on the stage and play dead. He did a wonderful job of a dying animal, if there was one that wore tie dye in it's death throes. Then he got to stand up and they had it land on his arm. I took pictures on the phone, but that didn't even begin to do justice. He got a button for volunteering making him vulture bait, which he would be without a button if he volunteers me again for such a thing.
Anyway, it was a great time - no waiting in lines, weather held nicely and it was awesome. So if you can, do your Gatlinburg trip after kids go back to school. But don't tell alot of people....then they'll all come :)
Today (the 25th) we just hung at the pool all day. Tomorrow, we are off to a waterfall in the woods to take some pics, swim a little there maybe...should have some pics for you then....
