Sawsadee Krup!
The first thing I've noticed about Thai, is that for 1 english word you must use a minimum of 3 Thai words. For example: we say 'thanks' they say 'kop koon krup' (for a male)and kop koon kaa (for a female) Needless to say, we're not doing very well with picking up the local language. Well, its VERY hot here! We've gotten used to the instant sweat that coats you the moment you go outside. Today was about 36 - so likely not that far off what it is back home.

To begin with: Dad, Rob ... and anyone else whom has ever crashed a motorbike...don't despair for Paul has now joined your ranks! We were planning to rent a motorbike to see some of Kanchaburi's sights (its very cheap - only 3$ for half day!) but the bike had other ideas. Paul was just trying it out in the parking lot, and the throttle was a bit sticky. I stood there stunned as he crashed into a planter, then took out the pole holding up the tarp at a store across the way. The bike was in a wheelie, wheels still spinning...and the drama ended with Paul throwing it on its side...where it thankfully came to rest. Paul was ok except for a bleeding nose and a few cuts...the bike required a bit of fixing up. Guess thats the price you pay for fun, huh?

Having a great time (other than the fact that I have lost my hearing due to an infection!!). Visited a beautiful waterfall yesterday, and Death Railway where about 100,000 people died during WW2. Quite tragic. Heading to Chaing Mai via the long road tomorrow.

Another update shortly!
