Update on my challenges..

First of all, what happened to my Korean challenge?? Well, I am a bit embarrassed to say I did not do it.. Why? I can list a number of reasons here, but the real reason is that I needed help on this one, and I had asked for help from my friends for so many things already, that I felt bad about asking their help on this one as well. They had already done so much effort to get things arranged for me.. I just couldn't bring up the topic of my challenges. So, Ton, I'm sorry! If you think of another challenge, please let me know.

Previous challenges

Russia: Jeroen came up with the brilliant idea to send me to the red square in Moscow with the self-inflatable mattress i got from my dear colleagues, and have my picture taken lounging on my mattress wearing a Russian hat. Beat that! completed
Mongolia: Erik requests a picture of me on a yak! I am more than happy to get this task replaced by a less challenging one! completed
South-Korea: Ton knows how much I love soccer (read the sarcastic tone in this line please) so he wants me to play with a soccer ball wearing a PSV shirt of Ji-Sung Park!!! Alright, I guess I will need help here.. not completed

Current challenge

China: I received only one challenge for China so far, and since Edwin sent it to me, I will have to delete his other challenge, the one in Thailand. Edwin, I will bring out a toast on you even though I deleted the challenge. Anyway, here is comes: order a ham and cheese toasted sandwich in a restaurant in China!! Now, the Chinese do not like cheese, hardly eat bread anyway.. Wish me luck!

Upcoming challenges

Tibet:
Nepal:
India: This is what my cousin Sef wrote in my guest book: I would like you (probably when travelling from Tibet) to travel to the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. There you travel to the city of Dharamsala, to be exact, to Upper Dharamsala, so-called 'Little Lhasa? This is the residence of Tenzin Gyatso, the current Dalai Lama. Here I would like you to meet with the fourteenth Dalai Lama. I hear you thinking....how on earth am I going to get in touch with the Dalai Lama?? Well that's the challenge....but to help you on your way I found some helpful points. Just take a peek in your email inbox.
I really really love this challenge, but this one might prove to be a bit too hard. Since I will travel to Nepal from Tibet, I would have to continue West from Kathmandu, which is no option because of the rebels in that area. Entering India, than travelling up North will take a lot of time, so I am still considering this one. Though I would love to meet this challenge, I welcome other challenges as well..

Thailand: Wibo wants me to go to a full moon party in Thailand and request an album track from the DJ.. which one? The Promised Land by Joe Smooth. Music is our (Wibo's and mine) common interest, so this is not only a fun challenge to me, it is also a reflection of our friendship. Thanks, Wibo.
Laos: Well, Nancy changed her mind on her challenge, and the little tease she is, she wants me to take a picture of a big spider in its web.. from up close. Yikes! She knows spiders scare the hell out of me, so even though this may not seem to be very challenging to some of you, it does to me! Somehow I hope I will skip Laos on my journey, that would be a nice excuse..
Vietnam:
Cambodia: What can a person do in Cambodia? Ever wondered? Well, of course you can rent a bike and drive around, trying to avoid the thousands of land mines, which is a challenge in itself. But there are far cooler things to rent there.. So, Vincent wants me to rent.... a bazooka.. A BAZOOKA!!! and shoot a cow.. OK, I can see the grin on your faces. I'm NOT going to shoot a cow, though that might provide a nice evening meal, but I will shoot a mosquito or two with a bazooka!!
Maleisia:
Indonesia: Chantal is partly Indonesian by origin, so her request is to have me find a person with her family name, Snackey, and take a picture of this person, who might be a relative!! I am curious how difficult or easy this task will be..
